Mike & Jackie's wedding

Sept. 5th, 2020 ~ Gwinner, North Dakota

We are so very excited to be able to celebrate our marriage surrounded by everyone we love. Thanks for visiting our RSVP page!

Jackie’s sister Kami was the photographer for our engagement pictures — thanks for doing an awesome job!
Please RSVP here by August 1st, 2020.

Our wedding will be the Saturday of Labor Day weekend in my parents’ backyard. Everything will be held outdoors in the yard unless bad weather would make us miserable – in which case we will move the ceremony to GA Church in Gwinner.

Attire: semi-casual to dressed up, however you’re comfortable

Plan for a hot afternoon that cools down after sunset and keep in mind you’ll be walking in grass! It could very well be windy – it’s North Dakota.

Schedule of events:

  • 5:30pm ~ Welcome, cocktails + appetizers
  • 7:30pm ~ Ceremony
  • 8:00pm ~ Supper + reception

Area map – yellow star is the wedding location. Also shown are major landmarks, the Cross Roads Motel, and GA church (in case it’s necessary).

Arriving

My parents’ address is 12 Bobcat Dr., Gwinner, ND. Many of you have been there before, but for those who haven’t, Gwinner is an easy hour and 15 minute drive from the nearest airport in Fargo. Parking will be off 1st Ave SW in Gwinner in the North Sargent School football/baseball parking lot between the bus barn and playground. After parking follow the signs through the path in the trees to reach our backyard and the welcome party. See the 2 maps to the right!

My Dad mowed us that path when my siblings and I were in elementary school so we could cut through the trees on our walk to school.

For those visiting North Dakota for the first time, Fargo is the largest city and has most major hotel chains and lots of things to do. It’s on the Red River, and across the border is the Minnesota town of Moorhead. Fargo’s downtown is very walkable and close to the river, so you can easily access the river path for a walk after browsing the shopping and restaurants on Broadway. When Mike and I lived in Fargo during our time at North Dakota State University, a few of our most frequented places were the Front Street bar, Rhombus Guys pizza, Vinyl Taco, and Sandy’s Donuts, but our favorite restaurant/bar by far was the Wurst Bier Hall. The Hotel Donaldson (or “Hodo” as the locals call it) is a fancier bar with great wine and cocktails. The famous Fargo Theatre always has interesting films playing. Fargo/Moorhead also has a bunch of breweries that have popped up over the last decade for those that like to try new beer.
